Epidural adhesiolysis is a minor surgery used to treat chronic pain and leg pain. The epidural space lies between the spinal cord and the vertebrae (bones of the spine).

Positioned between each bone of the spine are intervertebral discs. These discs are quarter-sized, fibrous cushions that form joints and hold the bones of the spine together.
